Northern Accelerator is supporting the Innovate UK ICURe roadshow when it comes to York on 9 November.
The in-person event will showcase the transformative potential of Innovate UK’s leading pre-accelerator programme and highlight why it’s such an important part of the journey for many of our university spinout businesses.
Attendees will to dive into the world of innovation and entrepreneurship in what will be the second roadshow in a series of nationwide events.
ICURe (Innovation to Commercialisation of University Research) offers researchers from all fields the opportunity to embark on an exhilarating journey that bridges the gap between research excellence and real-world impact.
Participants will discover how their innovative ideas could reshape industries and create positive change. And with a regional focus you’ll learn about the unique research landscape of the North East and North Yorkshire, hearing from ICURe alumni and spinout companies from our region’s universities.
You’ll hear directly from esteemed guest speakers who have successfully transitioned their research into thriving ventures. Panel discussions will also give you a chance to ask questions directly to explore the challenges and opportunities of the innovation journey.
Northern Accelerator academic entrepreneurs Dr Muhammad Wakil Shahzad, Dr David Kuntin, Dr Pavlina Theodosiou and Dr Chris Saunter will take part in the panel discussion, having all benefitted from ICURe programmes as well as Northern Accelerator support.
Technology transfer professionals involved in the leadership of Northern Accelerator will also take part in a panel led by Rick McCordall, Company Creation Manager at Newcastle University.
