Know your IP

Are you researching, developing, creating, discovering, investigating…? Even just having ideas?

Whether or not you have a current interest in commercialisation, recognising the value and power of Intellectual Property, and knowing how to protect it, is important to you and your university.

Join Marks & Clerk – Intellectual Property Services, in an expert-led awareness session on Intellectual Property (IP), at 2.30pm – 3.30pm on 18 February 2021.

An Introduction to Intellectual Property is open to academics in any subject area from Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria and Sunderland universities. Please note that we are not currently able to offer this session to Post Graduate Researchers.

The session will cover:

  • What Intellectual Property is and why it is useful
  • Patents: what they are, the patenting process and considerations in drafting claims
  • Due diligence: what it is, freedom to operate
  • Next steps: who will help you with Intellectual Property at your university?

Register for An Introduction to IP Awareness by completing this short form, by 11 February 2021.
