How to succeed with limited resources

With resources stretched thinner than ever across so many organisations, the timing couldn’t have been better for the Northern Accelerator Spinout Leaders’ Network to welcome Damian McGrath – former International Rugby Coach, author, and all‑round gentleman – to deliver his “How to Succeed with Limited Resources” workshop at Durham University Business School last week.

Our Spinout Leaders’ Network brings together academic founders, CEOs and executive leaders of spinout companies from the Northern Accelerator universities. Events offer the chance to network with fellow spinouts, hearing from inspiring and informative speakers on a range of topics.

In this latest session, Damian shared a host of practical, memorable tools and techniques, including:

  • Simple, actionable mindset shifts that make a big impact even when resources are limited
  • WITTS (What It Takes To Succeed) — eight powerful steps to revive a flagging team or boost declining morale
  • His 10‑point Standards of Behaviour Charter, offering a clear framework for building trust, accountability and high performance

Every attendee also left with a copy of Damian’s book, “Can You Be Fluent in Success?” — a brilliant companion to the ideas he brought to life in the room.

Huge thanks to Damian for delivering such valuable insight, and to everyone who joined us for an energising and inspiring session.
